Dad, planetary scientist and ally, Scot, astrophotographer, drummer
My mission is to understand the geophysical processes operating with planetary solid and liquid interiors that influence their thermal, orbital, and habitable evolution over time. I want to discover how these processes can be observed using data from existing and future spacecraft missions.
I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of St Andrews. Before this, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford (2022-25), and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, working as an affiliate of the Europa Clipper mission (2020-22). I completed my PhD at the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, researching oceanic tides of the outer solar system's icy moons and beyond.
Outside of science you can find me looking after my daughter, woodworking, hiking, and looking at rocks.
